Day 12 - Tyler

First full day in hotlanta!! We did some very interesting things. Before I continue I feel the need to share a poem. Roses are red, violets are blue, a lot happened today and I am going to tell you. Upon waking up I was completely surprised to see a wonderful breakfast of muffins and cereal. YUMMMMMYYYY!!! Then we headed to the Breman Jewish Heritage Museum. There were three galleries available that day, one on the Jewish history in Atlanta, one on the Holocaust, and the last one on the political images produced by Theodore Giesil better known as Dr. Seuss. We found out that Georgia, home of the peach-tree, doesn’t grow peaches. Apparently when the English arrived to Georgia they asked the Native American how to get to Savannah. The native Americans replied with “follow the pitch tree trail.” Well, like typical British settlers, they assumed that the Native Americans mis-pronounced their own language, and meant to say “peach-tree.” After the Breman Museum we went to the Carter Museum, learning about the difference Jimmy Carter and his wife made before during and after his presidency. To be continued…..
